BPS: Biopsychosocial Model

I assess through three integrated lenses; biology, psychology, and social context to understand how your lived experiences shape your relationships and wellbeing. Biologically, I consider sleep, stress physiology, energy, and nervous system regulation because these factors influence mood, attention, and connection. Psychologically, I explore thoughts, beliefs, coping styles, and emotional patterns to identify recurring relationship dynamics. Socially, I examine attachment history, family roles, cultural expectations, work life balance, and social supports that shape interactions at home and with others.

From this holistic view, I develop a shared formulation with you: how these domains interact to produce current concerns, what your strengths and protective factors are, and where the primary leverage points lie. Treatment planning then targets the interconnections you care about whether that’s improving communication and safety in relationships, regulating nervous system arousal, aligning daily routines (sleep, stress management, parenting), or strengthening supportive networks.

Core principles guiding the plan:

Collaboration: We co create goals that reflect your values and priorities.

Personalization: Interventions address biology (e.g., regulation strategies, sleep hygiene), psychology (e.g., cognitive and emotional skills), and social factors (e.g., boundaries, support systems).

Flexibility: I adjust the plan as your needs evolve, honoring pace, readiness, and intuition.

Measurement: Progress is tracked through practical outcomes (communication quality, affect regulation, daily functioning, relationship security) so you can see the ripple effects of change.

What it is: I work within a bio‑psycho‑social framework that honors how biology (sleep, stress physiology, nervous system), psychology (thoughts, emotions, coping), and social context (relationships, culture, environment) shape your wellbeing and how you relate to others.

What this means for you: In sessions, we look at how your body, mind, and relationships influence each other. By soothing the nervous system, aligning thoughts with healthier emotions, and strengthening supportive connections, you’ll experience clearer communication, better sleep and regulation, and more secure, satisfying bonds with partners, children, and family.
